FIRST-YEAR students (Freshman)
- Official secondary school (high school) transcripts, which list course work and grades
of the 4 years of high school education (or 3 years if you are still completing your final year
of high school at the time of applying to UNC Charlotte).
- Certified copy of your secondary school (high school) diploma (degree certification), if you have already earned
your high school degree, unless your high school transcripts clearly indicate your graduation date.
If you are still completing your high school education at the time of applying to UNC Charlotte, you must send
a final transcript and a certified copy of your diploma as soon as it becomes available, and prior to your enrollment
at UNC Charlotte.
Foreign Credential Evaluation
If you have graduated from a high school outside the US, you must submit a Foreign Credential Evaluation of your academic
transcripts and degree certificate.
The Foreign Credential Evaluations have to be performed by World Education Services (www.wes.org) or by an agency that is a member of NACES (www.naces.org).
International Undergraduate Student Scholarship
UNC Charlotte currently offers a merit based scholarship to first year students entering the U.S on an F-1 visa.
This International Undergraduate Student Scholarship is awarded to one student per year and the scholarship award will credited to the student's UNC Charlotte account over
a two semester period.
This scholarship will be awarded to an applicant that has shown outstanding academic achievement throughout his/her high school career.
If you are interested in applying for the International Undergraduate Student Scholarship, please submit a one page essay along with
your supplemental items to the Office of International Admissions no later than June 1st.

and prior to your enrollment at UNC Charlotte. A copy of the diploma is not necessary if your university-level transcript
clearly indicates your graduation date.
NOTE: Transfer applicants who have earned a 2-year or 3-year college/university
degree (including a 2-year U.S. associate’s degree or a 3-year bachelor’s degree) are not required to submit secondary school
(high school) transcripts.
Foreign Credential Evaluation
If you have not yet earned a degree of higher education (i.e. Associates degree of Bachelor’s degree) whether in the US or abroad,
you must submit a Foreign Credential Evaluation of your academic
transcripts and degree certificate. The Foreign Credential Evaluations have to be performed by World Education Services (www.wes.org) or by an agency that is a member of NACES (www.naces.org).

2ND-DEGREE seeking students

If you are still completing university education equivalent to a 4-year US Bachelor’s degree at the time of applying to UNC Charlotte,
you must send a final transcript and a certified copy of your diploma as soon as it becomes available, and prior to your enrollment
at UNC Charlotte.
- If you have attended UNC Charlotte, do not request your UNC Charlotte transcript, we will obtain those transcripts
(at no cost to you) after your application arrives.
Foreign Credential Evaluation
If you have earned or will be earning your Bachelor’s degree abroad, you are required
to submit a Foreign Credential Evaluation of your academic
transcripts and degree certificate.
The Foreign Credential Evaluations have to be performed by World Education Services

VISITOR
Your application for admission to UNC Charlotte as a Visitor will be reviewed for admission consideration
after the Office of International Undergraduate Admissions receives all the required application materials.
- Official letter from the university/college you are currently attending in the USA confirming your valid student status
and the transferability of the UNC Charlotte course work back to your current institution.
- Proof of legal status in the USA: Please provide a copy of your current Form I-20 of the institution in the USA
you are currently attending as an F-1 student/visa holder, or proof of your current visa/status in the USA.

English Language Proficiency
In order to ensure English Language proficiency, any applicant whose native language is not English, and/or who has been educated
primarily outside of the US, must submit official TOEFL, IELTS or MELAB scores. International students completing their high school
education in the U.S. may submit SAT scores instead.
The scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to UNC Charlotte. UNC Charlotte’s school code is 5105. Scores older than two (2) years will not be accepted.
Exemptions: Applicants are exempt if they :
- Are citizens of, or have earned an associate’s degree or higher in one of the following
countries: Australia, British Caribbean and British West Indies,
Canada (except Quebec), Ireland, Liberia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and United States.
- Have completed at least (2) academic English writing
courses with a grade of ‘C’ or better, at a US institution of higher education .

Verbal score of 450; Combined math and critical reading score of 900.
